SCART

WELCOME TO SCART LANDING PAGE, WHICH SERVES AS AN ON-LINE DIRECTORY TO OUR PROJECT-WEBSITES. SCART IS AN NGO BASED IN PRAGUE, EU. THE PEOPLE OF SCART LIKE TAKING ON CHALLENGES OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, POLITICS, DESIGN, ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT, NEW CHALLENGES FROM DIVERSE AUDIENCES AND DAILY LIFE. MAKERS AND HACKERS AS THEY ARE, THEIR WORK AND PLANS COULD BE ROUGHLY DEVIDED INTO SEVERAL AREAS OF FOCUS. AS A CULTURAL NGO IT HAS BEEN OPERATING FOR MORE THAN TEN YEARS ON THE BORDERS OF ART/SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY/ONTOLOGY AND BRINGS OUT VARIOUS PROJECTS DISTRIBUTED OVER THE SCALE FROM SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS TO THEATRE PERFORMANCES OR TACTICAL MEDIA CORRECTING EVENTS.

Recently the activities of the group, built essentially on the principle of elective affinities, are focused at artistic use and reflection of advanced robotics and human–robot interaction, artistic performative reflection of the European post-digital market society (theatrical plays) and critical approach towards political media manipulation based on “collaborative effort with journalists to help the media tell stories which they believe are important”.

SCART has established solid collaborations with cultural players and organizations throughout Europe (art production companies, creative industry and technological enterprises, civic associations) and was many times awarded by grants from various funding institutions (Ministry of Culture of Czech Republic, local municipalities, FP7 EC Programme etc.).
